MY TRANSFORMATION
The Breakdown Before The Breakthrough
HI, I’M JACKIE
Green Dress Founder
I’m a photographer, sales and marketing strategist who has spent more than two decades learning what makes people choose one business while overlooking another that may be just as talented.
That question has followed me through every chapter of my career. I saw it play out as a top salesperson at a Fortune 500 healthcare company, as I built a direct-sales business that earned more than $250,000 in profit, and again as I grew my photography company to well over a million dollars
My understanding of sales and marketing wasn’t built from theory alone. I know what it feels like to build something successful, but I also know what it feels like when markets change, the strategies that once worked stop producing the same results, and you’re left wondering what the hell you’re supposed to do next.
It was the combination of those experiences that eventually led me to create The Green Dress Project.
— THE BEGINNING
It all started with a green dress
In the summer of 2017, my marriage ended. A few weeks later, while celebrating my 40th birthday in New York with my daughter, I found a green dress.
It was fun, effortless and confident, which was everything I didn’t feel. I bought it anyway, promising myself I would wear it when I felt strong, whole and ready to become Jackie 2.0.
The dress disappeared into my closet while I rebuilt my life through therapy, single motherhood and financial uncertainty.
When I found it a year later, I realized the dress had never been waiting for Jackie 2.0. I had.
We do the same thing in business. We convince ourselves we need more followers, a better website or another strategy before we’re ready to succeed.
Often, the answer isn’t becoming something more. It’s recognizing what already works, finding what isn’t connecting and bringing the right pieces together.
That’s what The Green Dress Project helps photographers do.
What fitting in can cost your business
When you’re building a business, it makes sense to study what’s already working. You follow successful people, borrow their frameworks and use proven formulas.
But along the way, it’s easy to bury the very things that make someone choose you:
- Your perspective
- Your strengths
- Your beliefs
- Your way of solving the problem
These aren’t personal extras. They’re part of your business’s value.
When clients can’t see that value, even a polished business can feel like everyone else. You keep posting, working and trying new strategies, but growth remains frustratingly out of reach because the strongest reason to choose you is still hidden.
That’s the idea behind The Green Dress Project:
Looking the part may help you fit in. Showing why you’re the right fit is what creates demand, profit and sustainable growth.
THEY SEE THE VALUE. SO WHY AREN’T THEY BOOKING?
Is this for me? Why this business? Is it worth the money? Why now?
Every potential client is asking these questions, especially when they’re being careful with their money. The gap between interest and confidence is buyer hesitation, and your business may be creating more of it than you realize.
You know your business well enough to fill in the gaps. Your potential clients can’t. They can only judge what your website and social media make clear.
If understanding your value takes too much work, they’ll wait, compare on price or move on.
Welcome to The Green Dress Project
The green dress taught me that sometimes we become so focused on what we think we need to change that we overlook the unique value already there.
If you’ve poured your experience and a whole lot of hard work into building a business, but your bank account still isn’t reflecting it, you’re in the right place.
Let’s find your perfect fit so more of the right buyers have a reason to say yes.
